A bolt-on unit gives you an easy, low-cost entry into the fast-growing world of multi-component moulding. With a bolt-on unit from KraussMaffei's your existing injection moulding machine can be converted into an efficient and productive 2-component machines. For a relatively low investment, you have a quick and easy entry into 2C moulding.
2C applications
2-component moulding delivers fashionable two-colour and
two-material combinations, or adds extra functionality to products.
Multicomponent moulding is a fast-growing field with a vast range
of applications - from optically demanding multicolour components
(eg, automotive rearlight clusters) to rigid-flexible pairings (eg,
a thermoplastic + TPE).
3C upgrade
If 3-component moulding would open up new markets for your company, KraussMaffei can supply a third injection unit - as a second bolt-on for an already upgraded 2C machine. This flexibility is part of our dedication to supplying customers with exactly what they need.
Bolt-on units
In multicomponent moulding - processing two or more materials in
the same work cycle and in the same mould - the injection moulding
machine must have a separate injection unit for each material used.
This can be achieved with one or more bolt-on units. The best
position for attaching a bolt-on unit depends on the process, the
mould and sometimes on space considerations. KraussMaffei offers
two bolt-on unit versions - for integration in V or L
position.
