The KraussMaffei Economiser saves power, takes a load off the supply network and helps reduce your carbon footprint.
In injection moulding machines, electric motors are used in direct drives or to drive the hydraulic pumps. In electrical engineering terms, the motors are inductive consumers; as such they cyclically generate and reverse magnetic fields using the reactive power from the mains.
If you're operating injection moulding machines without centralized or local reactive-power compensation, you are billed for the reactive power flowing back to the grid. Even with a centralized compensation system, reactive power will cause power losses in your company power grid and you will have to invest in larger, more expensive line cross-sections to avoid problems.
Local reactive-power compensation with the Economiser eliminates
these extra costs. The Economiser compares favourably with other
compensators because of its new motor management system. This
enables savings of up to 15% on the active power side (for pump
motors rated up to 30 kW).
The Economiser is a compact unit. It can be installed right next to
the injection moulding cell, ie, very close to the source of the
reactive power, which then flows only from the motor to the
Economiser without any impact on your company power grid.
Your benefits:
- Reduced power consumption and costs because reactive power is
being put to use.
- The Economiser responds precisely to load changes and copes
effortlessly even with steep and frequent load ramps.
- The Economiser is good for the environment; using less
electricity cuts resource consumption and greenhouse gas
emissions.
- From consulting to commissioning, you deal with one
partner.
- Installing an Economiser is fast for immediate power savings.
