Munich, October 15, 2008 - He has been working for the KraussMaffei Group for almost 20 years and has now switched to Munich: Dr. Jens Liebhold recently took charge of KraussMaffei extrusion activities in Munich.
The 48-year-old engineer has impeccable extrusion credentials: after studying engineering and obtaining a doctorate in materials science, he was appointed to Twin-Screw Extruder Process Engineering (ZE) at Berstorff GmbH in 1990. In 1995, he was placed in charge of ZE Process Engineering and then, in 2001, of the entire ZE Business Division. Dr. Liebhold has also been technical director of the subsidiary Burgmüller GmbH in Kreiensen since December 2006. He takes charge of Munich extrusion activities from Alois Schmid, who left the company at the end of September 2008.
Team complete: New sales boss from November 2008
Under the leadership of Dr. Liebhold, Joerg Bothe will be responsible for managing worldwide sales of KraussMaffei's extrusion division in Munich from November 2008 on. The 44-year-old business manager has years of experience in extrusion sales: from 1995 to 2003, he was head of foam extrusion sales at Berstorff. He is currently head of sales for Europe and the Rest of the World at Demag Plastics Group. He succeeds Franz Fuereder at KraussMaffei, who recently left the company.
Manfred Reichel, KraussMaffei managing director with overall Group responsibility for extrusion, says: "This combination of Dr. Liebhold at the helm and Joerg Bothe in charge of sales will boost our Munich extrusion activities even further. Both managers are dyed-in-the-wool extrusion experts, who will ensure that our clients will continue to receive innovative technology, high-quality advice and comprehensive solutions into the future. At the same time, I would also like to thank Alois Schmid and Franz Fuereder for their contribution, both of whom rendered sterling work for KraussMaffei extrusion over the years."
